In every age, there are those who shine pure light, and those who obscure it with darkness. But as God designed it, the darkness usually comes first, and then the light. For example, first, there was an Enoch in the exiled, unrighteous line of Cain that built the first city full of mankind's soul-destroying creations. In this city, there were countless places, people, sights and experiences that were meant to lead people away from their connection to God and nature. Since God cursed the ground that Cain tilled in his work as a farmer, his progeny abandoned the countryside and lived in this city where people were led to fill their thoughts with pleasure-seeking and the accumulation of riches instead of being in harmony with God and His Creation, and loving and caring for all the things that God created. This is sadly what the cities that men build still do today, and this is why Abraham sought to find a home in the City of God that He has built for us in Eternity that is called the New Jerusalem.
Second, there was an Enoch in the righteous line of Seth that called people to repentance, and who sought to build something that would esoterically show them the way. This is why I believe that, with inspiration directly from God, Enoch designed the plans for the grand temple to God that we call the Giza Pyramids, which mimic the Belt Stars in the Messianic Sign of Orion. According to the Jewish Historian Josephus, these pyramids were built by Enoch's Sethite followers, who built these sacred pyramids to proclaim Enoch's prophetic messages about God's judgment, forgiveness and redemption on the spot where Enoch was caught up to Heaven. There, they built these magnificent stone pyramids and carved the Sphinx on top of a vast solid rock plateau (the solid rock of truth!) on the shore of the Nile river, and the design and purpose of this site is meant to draw people who seek to unlock its secrets back into a right relationship with God.
One of the things that Orion's Belt does visually in the heavens is point to the most brilliant star in the night sky, the brilliant white star called Sirius. And in this article, I am going to point to Sirius as the only logical choice for the Star of Bethlehem in a literal as well as religious sense. But first, let me give you an overview of my journey of discovery that led me to the conclusions I am going to share for the first time ever in this article.
Over the 25 years that I have been studying Sacred Astronomy and the Gospel in the Stars, I have seen many reports targeting various conjunctions of bright planets as the Star of Bethlehem, and for a while I followed the trend and attached the Star of Bethlehem to the planet Jupiter and its behavior between 3 and 2 BC. I did this on the assumption that the tendency of planets like Jupiter to move slowly in a retrograde motion for an extended period of time had something to do with the star that the Wise Men actually followed because of the extended length of time that they apparently followed it.
I also collected a great deal of data proving that Yahshua was born around 3 BC that has to do with not only the movements and conjunctions of Jupiter over several years before and after 3 BC, but with the other Signs in the Heavens that were evident between 5 BC and 1 BC. Some of this data was recorded in my Language of God book series, especially the first book in the series that is named "The Language of God in the Universe," and the book is still available for purchase HERE. At 450 pages, this thorough study of Astronomy and the messages hidden within the celestial objects in the heavens surrounding the Earth has been used as a text book by various ministers to teach believers about the historical and prophetic importance of these Signs
But gradually, the early assumptions that I had made about the Star of Bethlehem changed as I learned even more about Astronomy, Middle Eastern history, and Biblical analysis while carefully scrutinized the wording of the account of the Wise Men and the Star of Bethlehem in the first 12 verses of the 2nd Chapter of the Gospel of Matthew. As my knowledge grew, I began to question the assumption that the Star of Bethlehem was an ordinary star or planetary conjunction because they don't last long enough to match the length of time that the Bethlehem Star was visible. That's because the biblical narrative makes it clear that the star that the Wise Men followed was visible for at least three months, which is the length of time it would have taken by camel and horse caravan to travel from Parthia to Judea.

During this time, I learned that the Magi were likely rich court astrologers in service to the King of Parthia, which was the powerful kingdom that formed in the region of modern day Iran after the fall of Persia. I also learned that they were likely schooled in the Israelite knowledge of the meaning of various stars that the Prophet Daniel understood, and that is why they came to see the long awaited Messiah and King of the Jews that Daniel prophesied about. Also, since rich men in Parthia and Arabia at that time travelled on horseback (as shown in the adjacent illustration), the only camels in their caravan were likely used as pack animals.
Still more revelations came as I was working on my book called "The Language of God in the Universe". At that time, the Holy Spirit stepped in and rocked my world by showing me a direct connection with the esoteric idea that various sacred sites on the Earth are aligned with the Stars in the Heavens in a literal expression of the spiritual concept surrounding the phrase: "as above, so below" or "as in Heaven, so on Earth". Initially, this was when I studied the work of other pioneers in the study of Archeoastronomy that saw a direct connection between the stars of Orion's Belt and the three massive pyramids built at the archeological site near the Nile Delta that was called Giza in Egypt.
Coupled with the references of the Jewish Historian Josephus that the Sethites were the inventors of Astronomy and the builders of two large monuments connected to their knowledge of the heavens in Mizraim or Egypt, this made it fairly clear that YHWH God and His interactions with the descendants of Seth whom I call the Sethites were very likely behind this correlation of the Giza Pyramids with the Belt Stars of Orion, as shown in the graphic below that has additional information in it that I do not have time to cover in this article, but that is talked about at length in my book "The Language of God in History".

In "The Language of God in History", I delve heavily into the Archeoastronomy of the Bible, and where my desire to learn more about this new area of study came to fruition. As revealed in that book, my biggest breakthroughs in Biblical Archeoastronomy began when I was guided to take a literal print-out of the stars surrounding the Winter Triangle and the constellation of Orion, and match them up with a topographical photographic representation of the Earth's surface surrounding the three pyramids at Giza. What I did was align the three stars in Orion's Belt with the location of the Giza pyramids marked out on the map, as shown below this paragraph. After that, I looked for matches for the other stars with various surrounding locations on the Earth map.
What I found next was - in my opinion - nothing short of miraculous. This is because the brightest star in the heavens, which is the star Sirius, lined up perfectly with the city of Jerusalem when Orion's three Belt Stars were aligned with the three huge Pyramids located at Giza in Egypt, and Canis Major's little companion dog called Canis Minor is connected to a very interesting site for Mount Sinai that is located in Saudi Arabia - and this is where the Apostle Paul said this Mountain of God is located (See Galatians 4:25).

After this discovery, I did some more research and found out that Sirius is a double star system consisting of the massive white star Sirius A, and a dwarf white star called Sirius B. What's more, the star Sirius B was thought to be the remnants of a larger star than Sirius A that went Supernova, and then shrank down so small that it could no longer be seen without the aid of a telescope. Not only that, but since Bethlehem is a suburb of Jerusalem, Sirius B can be directly connected to the town of Bethlehem. In addition, Sirius B has a 50-year orbit around Sirius A, suggesting that it has been marking off prophetically important Jubilees of 50 years connected to the location of Jerusalem since the dawn of time.

After learning more about Astronomy, it really mystified me how any of the people that speculate on the identity and timing of the Star of Bethlehem could associate it with a mere conjunction of two planets or the alignment of a planet with a star. Because, first of all, planets are not stationary. They move in space, and only stay in alignment with other planets and stars for a very short period of time before moving onward in their journey through the heavens. Furthermore, the biblical narrative tells us that the Wise Men followed the Star that they saw in the East for some time until it appeared to remain stationary above Jerusalem, and thereafter continued moving until it appeared above Bethlehem. Technically speaking, this journey of the Magi took a long time since they had to travel from ancient Parthia by caravan to Jerusalem, and this would likely have taken three months or more by camel and horseback. Sadly, this important fact isn't taken into account by those who assume the Star of Bethlehem was nothing but a conjunction.

For these very important reasons, I would venture to guess, without fear of being too far off the mark, that the Star of Bethlehem was and still is none other than the Stars Sirius A and Sirius B - with a particular emphasis on Sirius B, which is comparable in mass to our Earth. A dwarf white star such as Sirius B is considered to be the remains of a large white star that has gone supernova, and there have been various reports that there was a supernova's brilliant light signature visible in the heavens even in the daytime at around the time of Christ's birth. As shown in the graphic here, there is a size correlation between Sirius B and the Earth that has a definite allegorical meaning. Since Sirius B is the remains of a dying star, it signifies the fact that the Earth, though shining some light in a spiritual sense, is destined to be destroyed and replaced by a New Earth. The New Earth that will be created after the Millennial Reign of Christ will be perfect in design and incorruptible like all the saints will be after the Rapture/First Resurrection.
Most intriguingly, when a star goes supernova, the flash of blinding light from the explosion of the star will shine brightly in the heavens - and sometimes they can be visible even in the daytime weeks or months afterward until the light fades away. Therefore, unless the Star of Bethlehem was simply a miraculous light that had nothing to do with the heavens at all, which is doubtful considering the fact that God created the celestial bodies in the heavens to serve as prophetic signs, there is no doubt in my mind that the Star of Bethlehem was once a very bright star, and that it probably had gone supernova.
This idea that the Star of Bethlehem was actually the light of a supernova connected to the star Sirius B has to be taken seriously because a bright comet or asteroid or conjunction would NOT be visible during the daytime, nor would they be visible for any great length of time. In fact, comets and asteroids pass by the Earth and out of view rather rapidly, and conjunctions only last a few days at most. So there is no other explanation for the Star of Bethlehem other than a star in supernova stage, and I can think of no better candidate for that supernova other than the white dwarf star Sirius B, which can be directly associated with Bethlehem.
However, there are problems with my theory, and one of these problems centers around the fact that scientists estimate that Sirius B went supernova millions upon millions of years ago. But I have learned that these scientists really have no idea how old the Earth or the heavens actually are, or if the speed of light and the degradation of various radioactive isotopes has remained constant throughout the millennia. In fact, scientists don't really know if the distances in the heavens can be considered linear or curved and therefore not measurable using any modern methods of determining long distances in outer space. In particular, the biblical narrative makes it very clear that God created everything in the heavens and on the Earth within six literal days, and since a day is as a thousand years to God, and a thousand years is as a day, it can be interpreted that the days of creation were actually each 1,000 years long (See Psalm 90:2-5 and 2 Peter 3:7-9). Taking this theory into consideration, and the fact that recorded history can't go back any further than around 4000 BC, the Earth and the Heavens aren't probably more than 12,000 years old.
There was also another problem with my theory that Yahshua was born in September of 3 BC that had to do with the death of King Herod being tied to a Total Lunar Eclipse. Most scholars point to Lunar Eclipses in 5 BC or 4 BC as the Eclipse that appeared around the death of King Herod. But in his Book "The Star That Astonished the World", the Bible Scholar Ernest L. Martin showed that there was a Total Lunar Eclipse in January of 1 BC that filled the criteria needed to match up with Herod's death. | Sirius A and B Tied To Jerusalem & Bethlehem |
This article has been a long time in the making. It took me over 20 years to solve the riddle of the Star of Bethlehem to my satisfaction, and I do not believe that anyone else has a better theory as to what the Star of Bethlehem actually was or is. My assumption that it was in fact the star Sirius B that went supernova makes much more sense than any other theory I have heard. Coupled with the connection of Sirius A and Sirius B with the city of Jerusalem and its suburb called Bethlehem, as well as the 50-year orbit of Sirius B around Sirius A, which is the most brilliant Star in the heavens even without the once even more extraordinary light of its companion Sirius B, it's as if God has been telling us the location and nature of the Star of Bethlehem since the beginning of His 4th Day Creation of the Sun, Moon, planets and stars (See Genesis 1:14-19).
My reason for writing this article now is because of the popular speculation that the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn between December 20th and 22nd is a repeat performance of the Star of Bethlehem, which some astronomers assume was the triple conjunction between these two planets in 7 BC in the Sign of Pisces/Israel that was caused by the phenomenon called retrograde motion. Although this triple conjunction has a strong messianic prophetic significance, and likely was meant to be a prelude to the true Star of Bethlehem that would appear a few years later, there is simply no likelihood that any of the three conjunctions that were spaced months apart in 7 BC served as the actual Star that the Wise Men followed for several months during their journey to Bethlehem.
Due to these factors that strongly rule out a conjunction as the Star that the Magi followed, it irks me a bit that so many articles being shared over popular media recently have been touting this close and spectacularly bright conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn today, tomorrow, and on the 22nd of December as a close approximation of the Star of Bethlehem. This is because some scholars tie the Star of Bethlehem to the triple conjunction of these two planets on May 29th, September 17th, and December 5th, 7 BC in the Sign of Pisces/Israel. Others tie the Star that the Magi followed to conjunctions of Jupiter and Venus in 3 and 2 BC.
While I have no doubt that this Triple Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in 7 BC should be included in the amazing line up of heavenly signs that marked the time of the coming of the Messiah between the beginning of 7 BC and the beginning of 1 BC, there were other equally important signs that followed it, such as he Lunar Eclipse Tetrad on the Jewish Feasts of Passover in the sign of Virgo and the Feast of Sukkot in the Sign of Pisces in 4 and 5 BC, and the Solar Eclipse in Pisces on February 25th, 4 BC that fell in the middle of the Lunar Tetrad of 4 and 5 BC. But the sequence of Heavenly Signs reached a crescendo in 2 and 3 BC with the close conjunctions of Jupiter and Venus in the Sign of Leo the Lion, symbol of the Tribe of Judah and the King of Judah that rules over all Israel on August 12th, 3 BC and June 17th, 2 BC, the Sign of Virgo portrayed as the Woman Clothed with the Sun that appeared in the sky on the Feast of Trumpets which fell on September 11th, 3 BC, and the Conjunction of Jupiter the King among the planets, and the King star Regulus in Leo the Lion on September 10-11th, 3 BC, and also on February 7th and May 8th, 2 BC.

This is where I would like to draw your attention to the fact that, connected to the middle Pyramid at Giza that allegorically represents the crucified Christ in the place of the Skull called Golgotha that was outside the walls of Jerusalem, there is a giant Sphinx that is partly carved out of the bed rock, and partly built of brick in the manner that Josephus indicated was preferred by the Sethites when they built their sacred monuments to glorify the Lord. This Sphinx is a representation of a human-headed, prostrate lion that is perpetually gazing directly toward the East. Furthermore, it has been determined that the head is a representation of a woman wearing a royal pharaonic headdress.

As a part female queen and part lion, this sphinx is allegorically pointing to the Signs of Virgo the Virgin that signifies the virgin Miriam who gave birth to Yahshua, and to the neighboring sign of Leo the Lion, which signifies Yahshua as the King of Judah, as well as the King of kings. So in the Sphinx, we can see a once mysterious ancient symbol that heralds the message that the ancient followers of the God of Seth and Abraham saw the signs of Virgo and Leo as tied to the First Coming of the Son of Man, Yahshua our Messiah as the Suffering Servant depicted by Jupiter and the sign of Bootes at the feet of Virgo, as well as His Second Coming as the King of kings depicted by Leo the Lion, the crownlike rings of Saturn, and the brilliance of Venus, the planet depicting Yahshua as the Bright and Morning Star of Revelation 22:16.
The reason why this is important to my thesis in this article is that the signs that occurred in 2 BC, 3 BC and 4 BC are inextricably linked to the signs of Virgo and Leo, the signs that heralded the first coming of the Savior of the world. Interestingly, some of these signs are also connected to Pisces, which signifies the Two Houses of Israel called Judah and Ephraim, and the Sign that marks this current age in history, when we are facing the end of the carnal world men created and the Second Coming of Christ that will usher in the New Age of Aquarius, an age connected to this Sign that is a neighbor to Pisces in the heavens.
Although I could get into many more factors that would prove my point, I think I have said enough for now to get people to start thinking about the Star of Bethlehem along allegorical and esoteric lines, as well as scientific and observational lines. My hope is that those who read this would be willing to question what they have been taught by those who know less about the allegorical Language of God than I do, as well as less about the science of Astronomy than they should to make an educated guess about the Star of Bethlehem. This brings me to say that, like many others, I am making an educated guess based on the knowledge that I have gleaned over the years, and because of the strong connection of Sirius A and B with Jerusalem and Bethlehem that God led me to find.
But despite all of these revelations that I've shared and the proofs that what I presented here is true, it is possible that I may be wrong also. After all, my conclusion that the Star of Bethlehem was a spectacular and never-to-be-repeated supernova of the Star Sirius B is only a theory, although it is an educated one. And since everyone else who has speculated on the Star of Bethlehem can only present theories based on what they know, I believe that God will ultimately have to solve the riddle, and show us all exactly what the Star of Bethlehem was or is after the Rapture. And when He does choose to tell us all that we can only guess at now, I will be paying rapt attention!
