The Several Rapture Events Described in the Book of Revelation

Hope and Comfort Promised in 1 Thess. 4 and Titus 2
Click Graphic To Enlarge
For those who malign those of us who hold on to the hope and comfort that we have been given in the promise of the Rapture or catching away described in 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 and Titus 2:11-14, our Blessed Hope is a well-established teaching in Scripture. In fact, there are several clear allusions to the "Catching Away" or "Rapture" described in the Book of Revelation. Furthermore, these allusions to the Rapture refer to events that all appear to happen BEFORE Christ returns to fight the Battle of Armageddon in Revelation 18 and Revelation 19.

For example, in Revelation 3:10-11, the Church of Philadelphia or Brotherly Love is told that they will be kept from the "Hour of Trial" that will come upon the whole world. This is referring to the Wrath of God, which is to begin after the Sixth Seal is opened. Christ says this to this Church representing His chosen Bride just before reporting that He is going to come for them quickly, meaning that His coming to catch them away to Heaven will be sudden, swift and unexpected, so they need to keep watch.

The Bride of Christ is an allegorical reference to the Church of Philadelphia described in Revelation 3:7-13. This Bride refers to all believers in Christ that are born again, or baptized with the Spirit of God, and have an intimate relationship with Christ through that same indwelling Spirit. As a congregation of born again believers, the Bride of Christ is called to eagerly anticipate and watch for Christ's coming for them in the Rapture at several places in Scripture, examples of which include Matthew 24:42, Matthew 25:13, and Matthew 26:41.

Then, in Revelation 4:1-2, John the Revelator is caught up to Heaven in the Spirit - where he enters Heaven through an open door. This is another clear description of a catching away or Rapture to Heaven. This doorway leading into Heaven alludes to the bloodstained doorways that protected the Israelites from the Angel of Death at the time of the Israelite Exodus from Egypt. All the inhabitants of houses with doorways marked with the blood of a yearling male lamb on that first Passover were spared from death while all the firstborn of the unprotected Egyptians died.

The bloodstained doorways of the first Passover are symbolic of the bloodstained Cross of Yahshua or Jesus, and it is this symbolic Door that is alluded to in the Parable of the Ten Virgins, which describes the way that those saints who attend the Wedding of the Lamb will be chosen. The Door in this Wedding Parable is shut after the Bridegroom, His Bride, and the Wise Virgins enter the Wedding Feast in Heaven through it. This Door is allegorically referring to the atoning sacrifice of our Messiah Yahshua, Who calls Himself "the Door" or true Shepherd of the Sheep or saints in John 10:7-9. So when this Door is shut, it is referring to the end of the Age of Grace that began when Christ died on the Cross for our sins in a sacrificial death that allowed Christ's Spirit to be sent to seal and guide His servants into the Kingdom of God.

The next inference to the Rapture of the Church can be found after analyzing the events of Revelation Chapter 6. In Revelation 6:12-16, the Wrath of God is described as first visiting the Earth as part of the Sixth Seal Judgment, which I believe will happen right after the Rapture of the Bride of Christ. This can be deduced as the time of the Rapture because, as mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 5:9, believers are not appointed to suffer God's Wrath, and the Wrath of God is not to be unleashed until the Sixth Seal is opened.

The Rapture can also be deduced as a Sixth Seal event because, right after the 144,000 Witnesses are chosen in Revelation Chapter 7:1-8, a great multitude of saints suddenly appear in Heaven, as described in Revelation 7:9-10. About these saints, we are told: “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” This is a poor translation, which makes it sound as though these saints have experienced the Great Tribulation - and the Wrath of God. However, the Greek used here for “come out of” can also be translated to read: “These are the ones who come away from the great tribulation...” When translated this way, the Scripture clearly implies that these saints are taken away from having to experience the Great Tribulation, rather than having had to suffer through it beforehand.

As a marker showing how close we are to the Rapture, I wrote another article that explains how the Fifth Seal Judgement is tied to the plight of Yahshua's disciples in Africa and the Middle East, who are being brutally treated and murdered by Muslim Terrorists like the Muslim Brotherhood, Hezbollah. Al Qaeda and ISIS. The title and link to an article I wrote about this is below. Please read it for a better understanding of the fact that the Rapture of the Church is imminent, and should occur within the next few years.

THE CONNECTION OF ISIS WITH THE
FIFTH SEAL CRY OF THE MARTYRS

The fact that the Fifth Seal has likely already been opened shows that the Rapture is tied to the Sixth Seal Judgment, when the Wrath of God is officially going to begin. This means that the saints who are taken in the Rapture will have been taken up after the Tribulation of those days spoken of in Matthew 24. Therefore, they will be taken out of - or away from - the Great Tribulation, which begins with the arrival of the plagues connected to the Wrath of God at the time of the opening of the Sixth Seal.

This is why those taken in the Rapture appear in Scripture right after the Sixth and Seventh Seals are discussed, in Revelation Chapter 7. Right after the choosing of the 144,000 in Revelation 7, there is a passage describing a great multitude that no one can count, which come out of the Great Tribulation. This multitude stands before the Throne of God in Heaven in worship. As I already alluded to, this passage can alternately be translated to read that the multitude "comes away from" rather than "comes out of" the Great Tribulation, which begins with the opening of the Sixth Seal.

At the time of the Sixth Seal, after the saints are removed from the Earth in the Rapture, the first plagues of the Wrath of God will be poured out on the entire Earth. These include a worldwide earthquake, and a possible physical pole shift. This pole shift would explain why the mountains and islands are to be moved out of their places in relation to the Sixth Seal. In addition, a pole shift would simultaneously trigger many worldwide upheavals that will cause much death and destruction. These cataclysmic events will include numerous, violent volcanic eruptions, severe earthquakes, terrible tsunamis and frightening floods that will affect the entire world.

The next allusion to a Rapture event in the Book of Revelation appears in Revelation 11:11-12, when the Two Witnesses are caught up to Heaven immediately after they are resurrected. At the time that this event occurs, a voice is heard in Heaven crying out: "Come Up Here!", which is a divine call for the Witnesses to come up, or to be caught up to Heaven so that they can worship God before His Throne. This same call of "Come Up Here!" happens at the time that John the Revelator enters the open door into Heaven in Revelation 4:1-2. This is why I firmly believe that there may be two or more Rapture events.

I especially think there will be two Raptures: one just before the Wrath of God is meted out that will end the Age of Grace, and one just before the Bowls or Vials of God's Wrath are poured out. This Rapture of the Two Witnesses - and a possible group of Tribulation Saints - will be at the time of the Seventh and Last Trumpet Judgment against the unrepentant wicked described in Revelation Chapter 11. After this, there will be a third event that may be considered as the final part of the First Resurrection, but that doesn't really qualify as a Rapture or "Catching Away". I will explain more about this a bit later.

Then, in Revelation 14:1-5, the 144,000 Witnesses that are chosen from the 12 Tribes of Israel are described as being with Christ on Mount Zion before the Bowls of God's Wrath are poured out. These redeemed saints then sing a new song before the Throne of God and the Cherubim in Heaven. Since they can't sing in Heaven if they haven't been transported there, it's logical to conclude that they are taken to Heaven with Christ, Who has come for them, appearing on the Earth - specifically on Mount Zion - at some point before the Battle of Armageddon. I believe these 144,000 Witnesses may be taken up to Heaven to sing before Gods Throne at the time that the Two Witnesses and a possible remnant of true believers are caught up to Heaven, which happens at the same chronological point as the resurrection of the Two Witnesses.

Personally, I believe that the great multitude in Heaven in Revelation 7 are the saints that were caught up to Heaven before the Sixth Seal is opened and God's Wrath begins to be poured out. I also think this may include the 144,000, who will then be transported back to the Earth in immortal bodies to serve as Christ's witnesses to the lost. This would make sense of why they are brought back to Heaven before the Battle of Armageddon. They will then be among those translated and resurrected saints who will be riding on white horses with Christ when He returns to fight the great battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil described in Revelation 18 and Revelation 19.

There is also the Sign of the Woman Clothed with the Sun in Revelation 12, which many people have pinpointed as a Sign in the heavens concerning the Sun in the constellation of Virgo the Virgin that will precede the Rapture of the Church. A sign that qualifies will happen the day after Rosh Hashanah or the Feast of Trumpets on September 23rd, 2017. Though there may be a Rapture event connected to this, however, it actually speaks about the history of the Church. This is made apparent by the appearance of the man-child in Revelation 12:5 that the Woman Clothed with the Sun symbolizing the Virgin Mary gives birth to, and that is subsequently taken up to God's Throne, which is a symbol of the birth of Yahshua, as well the Ascension of Yahshua or Jesus into Heaven after His Resurrection.

The description of the Woman fleeing into the wilderness in Revelation 12:6 is not tied to the Rapture, but to the dispersal of new converts to the Christian faith being persecuted by Satan and his henchmen and having to flee into less civilised areas, where they started and established their own thriving communities where persecution was not as apparent. The 1260 days or YEARS of this persecution and need to flee likely marks the number of years from the formation of the Church of Rome in the 4th Century AD to the Protestant Reformation in 1517 AD.

At the time that Yahshua was born in Bethlehem, the Star of Bethlehem was likely the planet Jupiter in conjunction with Venus and other celestial objects, including a conjunction of Jupiter with the "king" star Regulus in the constellation Leo the Lion during an appearance of the Woman Clothed with the Sun on September 11th, 3 BC, which was Rosh Hashanah or the Feast of Trumpets in that year. I wrote about this sign extensively in my Language of God Series Books. Here is a link to an excerpt from my book "The Language of God in the Universe" explaining why this sign was so significant, and may well have been tied to the time period of Yahshua's birth, although He was likely not born on that day, but several days after:

Book Excerpt: The Divine Timing Of The Celestial
Signs At Christ’s Birth And Their Ties to
Tabernacles, Chanukah and Christmas

Each of the aforementioned Rapture events hinted at in Scripture should be seen as stages or phases of the multistage First Resurrection into everlasting life. The last of these phases tied to the First Resurrection comes at the end of the Great Tribulation in Revelation 20, when the martyrs for Christ who die horribly during this terrible time of testing will be resurrected onto everlasting life, and will be allowed to serve God as royal priests. They will do so along with the rest of the born again believers that took part in the First Resurrection (See Rev. 20:4-6). At this time, they will serve as judges, priests and leaders around the world during the Millennial Rule of Christ.

For a better understanding of why I believe that the First Rapture event is going to be a Pre-Wrath event as described here rather than Pre-Tribulation, please read the following article, and the articles linked to within the body of that article that go into more depth explaining my view of key Scripture passages related to the Rapture, the Tribulation, and the Great Tribulation:

The Unfolding Story of the Woman Clothed With The Sun and the Star of Bethlehem in 2015

In my two previous articles dealing with Sacred Astronomy and the Gospel in the Stars, which are listed and linked to below this opening paragraph, I showed the unfolding saga of the Signs in the Heavens appearing from June through October 14th, 2015 - the date that the Woman Clothed with the Sun appeared, and fulfilled the Heavenly Sign of the Woman Clothed with the Sun described in Revelation 12:1. Then, in my excitement, I jumped ahead to examine Heavenly Signs in June of 2016 and September of 2017, overlooking the other signs this October that may also be tied to the Sign of the Son of Man described in Matthew, Chapter 24. This Sign will appear just before the Rapture or catching away of the Bride of Christ and the Wise Virgins to Heaven:

November 2015: Is This Part of the Sign of the
Son of Man Heralding the Rapture?

Powerful Prophetic Signs In The Heavens
From September 2015 Through September 2017 -
What They May Mean For Christ's Bride

In my two previous articles, my deductions led me to believe that the signs between October 2013 and now are all connected to the Sign of the Son of Man, which will appear in the heavens just before the Rapture. In this related article, I want to show how there is more to the Heavenly Signs of October 2015 than just the conjunction of Venus the Morning Star and Regulus the King Star on October 9th, and the Sign of the Woman Clothed with the Sun that appeared on October 14th, which is depicted with a new graphic at the beginning of this article. In fact, this Heavenly Sign is actually still unfolding, and will be until the end of October 2015.

Before continuing, it's important to note that the Jewish Calendar is not fully Lunar. They add a thirteenth month every four years or so to keep their calendar in line with the Solar Year because it was important to God. At one time, the Israelites also used the Solar Equinoxes and Solstices to determine when the Spring and Autumn Feasts should be.

When this was in effect, Passover was always determined to be the first full Moon after the Spring Equinox unless the barley harvest wasn't ripe enough, in which case it would be postponed a month. Meanwhile, the Feast of Trumpets was always determined to be the first New Moon after the Autumn Equinox. But for some reason I can't fathom, they no longer follow this rule regarding the Fall Feasts.

Now, since the Autumn Equinox fell on September 23rd in 2015, the October 14th New Moon marked the true Feast of Trumpets as the first New Moon AFTER the Autumn Equinox. Knowing this, we can count forward 10 days from there to October 23rd, which is the true Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur. Then we can count 5 days from there to October 28th (starting on the evening of October 27th), to find the true first day of the week-long Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot in 2015.

Six days before Yom Kippur - on October 17th, 2015 - there was a perfect conjunction of Mars the planet of Blood Sacrifice, and Jupiter the Messiah Planet in Leo the Lion of Judah, as shown in the graphic below. This event fulfilled the sign of Revelation 12:2 through Revelation 12:4 covering the labor of the Woman to bring forth her Male Child - the one who is known today as Yahshua or Jesus. Like the other graphics in this article, this graphic explores this sign's spiritual meaning, so please take the time to read what is written on it:

Then, on the morning of the Day of Atonement on October 23rd, 2015, the following Sign appeared in the heavens above our Earth. This Heavenly Sign may be a visual fulfillment of Revelation 12:5, which speaks of the Male Child who was born, and who was "caught up", or taken up in a Rapture-like event. This is an allusion to the fact that Yahshua ascended into the Heaven where God dwells immediately after His death and resurrection into everlasting life:

After this, on October 26th, 2015 - which is only two days before Sukkot - there will be another conjunction of Jupiter the Messiah Planet, and Venus - the Symbol of Yahshua or Jesus as "the Bright and Morning Star" of Revelation 22:16. However, this is not as perfect a conjunction of Jupiter and Venus, nor is it as near Regulus the King Star as it was in June of 2015. Instead, this conjunction appears under the body of Leo, the celestial symbol for Yahshua as the Lion King of Judah:

Jupiter and Venus are both prophetic symbols that are tied to Yahshua or Jesus, and they have been in close proximity to one another in the Sign of Leo the Lion from June through October 2015. This is prophetically fascinating because Leo is the sign representing Yahshua as the Lion of Judah, Jupiter is the Messiah Planet that was prominent in the sky when He was born, and Venus represents Yahshua as the Bright and Morning Star, and which was also prominent in the sky when He was born. Therefore, in my opinion, this is a sign meant to encourage Yahshua's Bride, the True Church with a promise of their Messiah and King's soon return in the Rapture.

Now, since Revelation 12:1 was fulfilled on October 14th, Revelation 12:2-4 was fulfilled on October 17th, and Revelation 12:5 was fulfilled on October 23rd, this second "Star of Bethlehem" Sign that appears on October 26th - and occurs exactly twelve days after the Woman Clothed with the Sun appeared in Heaven on October 14th, 2015 - may correspond with verse 6 of Revelation 12. In Revelation 12:6, we are told that the woman would flee to the "wilderness", which can also be interpreted as "refuge" instead of "wilderness".  Due to this, it may be a reference to the rescue of the Bride of Christ to a place of safety until the 1,260 days or 3-1/2 years of the Great Tribulation are over.

Though there is no way to know when the Rapture will truly occur, it could very well happen this October sometime, or in the very near future thereafter due to the continuing power of the Heavenly Signs this October 2015 that are pointing forward to the Rapture. In fact, there is one last sign that will appear in October 2015 that deserves a mention. This will occur on October 29th, 2015, when Jupiter, Venus and Mars will be clustered together in near Conjunction in Leo , and Mercury the Prophetic Witness, and Spica "The Branch" will be in Conjunction in Virgo:

RECEIVING DIVINE HEALING VIA OIL, PRAYER AND CONFESSION

Sadly, I've never heard a Pastor give a full sermon on two very important Scripture passages concerning the reasons for sickness among believers, and the steps to healing. The first one can be found in verses 14 through 16 of Chapter 5 of the Epistle of James, which I have quoted below. The second one is in 1 Corinthians Chapter 11, verses 26 through 32, which I quote and will discuss later in this article.
~*~ James 5:14-16 (NKJV) Anoint, Confess and Pray For Healing! ~*~“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
Due to its importance, James 5:14-16 should be a basic and oft-repeated teaching in every Church and Messianic Synagogue on the planet because it lays the groundwork for receiving divine healing from sickness. Most believers are familiar with the Apostle James' instructions in verse 14, which calls us to anoint the sick believer with oil, and pray over them for divine healing. The problem is that most believers omit what it says in verses 15 and 16, where we are told that someone who is sick may find forgiveness and healing when they publicly confess any previously unacknowledged or unconfessed sins to God.

In particular, James 5:16 acknowledges the fact that, although unconfessed sin is certainly not the only cause of sickness, believers can and do get sick and suffer consequences when they have committed unconfessed, willful sins. This supports the idea that we do not obtain righteousness merely through belief in Yahshua or Jesus, but through the forgiveness of God after our active repentance through the open confession of our sins. Sadly however, due to the erroneous teachings of Eternal Security in relation to the concept of Grace, this very important step of CONFESSING OUR SINS to God and one another when we suffer from sickness that defies all our efforts at prayer and fasting is totally overlooked in every group prayer session for healing that I've participated in. Furthermore, I believe that this is why many of us never receive the healing we need and seek from God!

So, the next time you pray for healing for yourself, take the time to reflect on what you may have done wrong that needs to be confessed. Then confess it to God, and ask God to forgive you and change your heart with the power of the Holy Spirit before you proceed to pray for healing. Also, when you pray for healing, pray against demonic attacks, and ask God to protect you from these attacks of the enemy that can, and often do result in terrible sickness and suffering for those who love God and serve Him. If we do this, I am confident that we all may receive a different outcome than we have in past failed attempts to pray for healing.

When we pray for healing as we repent of our sins, we must remember that all have fallen short of the Glory of God. So none of us is seen as righteous without Yahshua's blood as a covering. Therefore, James' statement that the prayers of a righteous man avails much in the Scripture quoted earlier has to be seen in this light. For further proof that willful sins that are committed after we are saved are not fully forgiven until we confess these sins, let's read Romans 3:23-26, where the Apostle Paul says - specifically in verse 25 - that we receive Grace through Christ, and forgiveness for the sins we PREVIOUSLY committed. This strongly suggests that Grace does NOT extend to the willful sins committed AFTER our conversion:
~*~ Romans 3:23-26 ~*~
“...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”
What Paul is saying with the inclusion of the phrase “because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed” is that we are forgiven of all the sins we committed before coming to the foot of the Cross, but not for the willful sins that we are aware of, but commit afterward and do not repent of. This means that our willful sins are not forgiven under Grace until we repent, and we reap consequences for unconfessed sins, including financial woes, marital or other relationship problems, and sickness - just as we do when we partake of the Lord's Supper with unconfessed sin standing between us and God. This is why the Apostle Paul said:
~*~ 1 Corinthians 11:26-32 ~*~
“For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes. 27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 30 For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.”
What Paul says about judging ourselves in the above passage before partaking of the Lord's Supper is highly important, but is rarely preached. Despite this oversight, we are still called to judge ourselves by God's Moral Laws that are encapsulated in the Ten Commandments and Christ's living example to see how we stand before God. We also need to do what we can to correct our actions when we find fault with ourselves for our bad behavior through the conviction of the Holy Spirit. This means that, in order to NOT be judged by God in this life, and to potentially be spared some of the consequences of sin such as sickness, we all need to repent of willful sins as they occur to find forgiveness.

After our conversion, Yahshua's Grace does cover the unknown sins that we commit due to our ignorance of them. But, in all other respects, we are called to be shining examples of our Savior through the godly behavior that the Holy Spirit inspires in us. But this is only possible if we are examining ourselves for sin, and listening to God's Spirit in us on how we should make amends for the sins that we do commit. As it says later in the Epistle to the Romans, Paul laid the groundwork for how we must die to the world, and to sin when we choose to follow Yahshua, and how we must strive to live holy lives for Him:
~*~ Romans 6:5-14 ~*~
“For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”
Remember that we can only obtain forgiveness and redemption when we believe in and follow the Son of God  and our Savior Yahshua or Jesus. To follow Yahshua means that we have vowed to die to the world and its lusts in order to serve others in love, and that we live for Yahshua alone. But when we fail to resist the lust of the flesh, and the pleasures of life - as we all do occasionally - we fall out of favor with God, and are not allowed free access to God's Throne of Grace when this happens without repentance. In order to obtain our freedom to approach God's Throne with our petitions, we need to recognize our failings, repent of these new sins through the Cross and Blood of Christ, and ask God for forgiveness and regeneration via His Holy Spirit before we seek His favor in any and every other area of our lives.

Sometimes, however, our sins may not be that clear to us because we do not see how our behavior or emotions may break one of the Ten Commandments, or one of Yahshua's Two Commandments to love God and one another with our whole hearts. This is why the Apostle Paul said the following as a reminder of the types of sins that grieve the Holy Spirit, and thereby keep us from the love and blessings of God:
~*~ Ephesians 4:31-32 ~*~
“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”
So, when we fail to be kind, loving and forgiving, but give ourselves up to foul language, bitterness, anger and malice, we grieve the Holy Spirit, and thereby cause a temporary rift or barrier to form between ourselves and God until we repent. These emotional sins are the ones that we are most often guilty of after our conversion, and the sins that we most often overlook, or refuse to deal with after we are saved. Believe me, I know this from personal experience! Therefore, these sins that grieve the Holy Spirit are also the main sins that keep us from being healed or blessed in other areas of our lives after we accept Christ as our Savior.

Of course, we can be cursed with ill fortune and sickness when we are under attack by the Devil and his minions as well - especially when we are waging effective spiritual battles against the dark spiritual principalities and powers that the Devil operates in. I also know of this fact quite well through my own experiences with the need for Spiritual Warfare surrounding my teachng ministry. But if we do as Paul admonishes, and examine ourselves regularly to deal with our unacknowledged or unconfessed sins that grieve the Holy Spirit as they occur, we will be forgiven, and will be ready to receive divine healing when we are sick from other causes such as demonic attack, toxins in the body, or environmental pollution.

As an aid to healing, believers should instinctively know what the source of their discomfort is when they are truly born again, and listening to God. This is because the Holy Spirit will not let us remain in darkness about what we need to do to please God, or to get well. So we need to develop our relationship with the Holy Spirit - and increase our ability to see and weed out sin in our lives. This is best done through continual prayer and Bible Study. If we do this, we will be blessed like the Prophet Moses, whose “eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished” when he died at the ripe old age of 120 (See Deuteronomy 34:7).

WHY WILLFUL SINNERS WILL NOT BE FORGIVEN UNLESS THEY REPENT!

The key words people seem to be missing in many of my posts warning believers that unrepentant sin will NOT be forgiven are the words WILLFUL and REPENTANCE. To Repent means to regret and turn away from sin before God, and while also asking God for help in order to stay away from sin. To willfully sin means to go against God's Moral Laws, which are partly found in the Ten Commandments in Exodus, Chapter 20 with full knowledge of the fact. These Laws tell us to serve our one Creator God only and not to serve idols, to keep God's name and Sabbath holy, and also tell us not to steal from or cheat others, not to kill, not to lie, and not to covet or unlawfully lust after what others have.

The Ten Commandments were deemed so important that Yahshua or Jesus summarized them in His Two Great Commandments, which are to love the Lord God (i.e. Yahweh Elohim) with our whole hearts, souls and minds, and to love our believing neighbors as ourselves (See Matthew 22:37-40). What some believers do not realize is that because Yahshua is the Word of God made flesh, His voice is the Voice of God. In fact, it was also this same Voice of God that Moses heard and responded to when Yahshua was in His Preincarnate state. Yahshua's Two Commandments were also taken from different parts of the Old Testament Moral Law that He gave to Moses, with the first Commandment to love our Father God with our whole beings coming from Deuteronomy 6:5, and the law to love our believing neighbors as ourselves coming from Leviticus 19:18.

Now, some believers might be confused by this statement that Yahshua commanded His disciples to keep two Old Testament Laws, as well as to keep His other Commandments. What they fail to grasp is that in the New Testament, Yahshua and the Apostles made it clear that the way we show our love for God is by following His Moral Laws or Commandments, which were never abolished. This is clearly said in 1 John 2:2-4, and 1 John 5:1-3. Sadly, many believers are erroneously taught that ALL the Old Testament Laws were abolished when Christ died on the Cross for our sins. However, that is not true at all.

Although many of the 613 Old Testament Laws were abolished and symbolically nailed to the Cross when Yahshua died for our sins, these were the many Laws that dealt with sacred buildings and animal sacrifices, such as the appearance of and uses for the Desert Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, the sacrificial vessels, the altar, the Temple to Yahweh, the priestly clothing and priestly behavior, and the many laws governing the types of blood sacrifices, and the oil and grain offerings that were continually offered up on the Sabbaths and Feasts of the Lord. These were all done away with, but God's Moral Laws and His Feasts were not abolished!

In addition to the Ten Commandments, and Yahshua's Commandments to love God and one another, Yahshua addressed numerous Moral Laws found in the Old Testament in His Sermon on the Mount, which is found in Matthew Chapters 5, 6 and 7. All of the laws He reviewed and enhanced in that Sermon, as well as in many other chapters of the Four Gospels reflect the Moral Laws found in Exodus 21Exodus 22, and Exodus 23, which was called the Book of the Covenant, along with the Moral laws in Leviticus, Chapter 18Chapter 19 and Chapter 20, and in Deuteronomy 18Deuteronomy 19Deuteronomy 21Deuteronomy 22, and Deuteronomy 23 (with the exception of the Laws pertaining to war or slaves, which Yahshua never supported or condoned).

All of these Moral Laws fall under Christ's Commandment that we should love our neighbors as we love ourselves. These Laws speak about how we should treat our family, friends, neighbors, and livestock, and many of these laws specifically condemn the sins of sexual immorality like adultery, incest and homosexuality, and they are applicable to all believers today, both Natural Israel or the Jews, and all Gentile believers that have become a part of Israel by being grafted in through faith in Yahshua (See Romans, Chapter 11).

The key to remaining in God's favor is REPENTANCE, and understanding what God expects from us by becoming familiar with His Moral Law. Yahshua or Jesus paid the debt for our sins and abolished the need for animal sacrifices and oil and grain offerings once and for all time, as is clearly stated in Hebrews, Chapter 9, but we need to repent or turn away from sin, and then ask God for forgiveness before that debt payment will cover our sins that are made after our initial moment of salvation by faith. So an unrepentant sinner is someone who has the full knowledge of the fact that they are breaking the Moral commandments of God, but are justifying their wicked actions in some way so that they don't feel that they have to stop. For example, a person who claims to be a believer, but who becomes a thief even though God's Law says that we should not steal or covet - and tells others that it's okay for him to steal from his rich neighbor because he's poor - is willfully sinning.

A good example of this type of behavior that is being justified in popular culture are all the books and movies that have been made idolizing the English folk hero Robin Hood, who despite being depicted as a clever man with a righteous cause, was a totally unrepentant thief that repeatedly resorted to robbery and violence to get what he wanted. No matter how justified we feel that his actions may have been in the face of the despotic traitor king he was fighting against, it still doesn't make lying, coveting, and stealing like he reportedly did the right thing to do. As the popular saying goes: "two wrongs don't make a right!"

This also confronts the fact that, though Christians have historically resorted to violence and war in the face of tyranny, and they cite the divinely-sanctioned behavior of the ancient Israelites against their enemies as a case in point, Christ never told us to do likewise. Instead, He came to show the world a different way to behave via passive resistance. He did so when He asked His disciples not to fight their enemies, but to love them by preaching the Gospel to them - with the implied hope of drawing them into His Kingdom:
~*~ Matthew 5:43-45 ~*~ “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
We do good to those who hate us not by killing them, but by telling them that God loves them, and that He sent His One and Only Begotten Son to die for them, rise from the dead, and save them from their sins - if only they would repent, accept Jesus or Yahshua's blood sacrifice as their pardon from sin by accepting Yahshua as their Savior, and follow His Moral Laws encompassed in His one Commandment that we should love one another as we love Him. Incidentally, we can only love Christ fully by following all of His Moral Laws or Commandments, and repenting when we fail to do so! Those who do not repent and follow Yahshua are condemned to die for their sins. This includes all people who have heard and rejected the Gospel of the Kingdom of God - a spiritual Kingdom that we can only enter by accepting Yahshua's blood sacrifice and receiving the  baptism of the Holy Spirit.

For those who do not repent, and who willfully hurt those who love God, we are not to harm them, but are to wait and allow God to Judge and repay them. As God says in Scripture: "Vengeance is Mine! I will repay!" (Deuteronomy 32:35; Romans 12:19) His list of those to take vengeance against includes all the Robin Hood wannabees in this world. Speaking of which, the image at the beginning of this article was taken from one of my favorite Robin Hood movies, "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves", which was made in 1991, and starred Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman. At the time that I watched this movie, I really enjoyed it, and didn't care or even want to face the fact that what Robin Hood and his merry men were doing was wrong. But even the sort of blatant sin that Robin was guilty of can be forgiven, so long as the sinner REPENTS or turns away from sin. This turning away often involved the need to make amends to those hurt by that sin, whenever this is possible.

According to Scripture, the only sin that cannot and will not be forgiven is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. This sin is committed when the  Holy Spirit is denied and discounted, and not seen as important in one's walk with God. This sin is therefore committed by those sinners who claim that God's miracles and spiritual gifts are no longer in operation, or are not real. It is also committed by those sinners who treat those who are blessed with spiritual gifts, or who are recipients of miracles - with disdain or mockery.

Again, the only way any sin can be forgiven is if the person who sinned REPENTS, which manifests as remorse over sin, the desire to change, and the desire to make amends to any injured parties. To be remorseful means to be sad or ashamed of one's willful sinning so much that it causes the person to seek God's power to help them change their behavior, and make amends to those they have hurt whenever it's possible. To truly receive God's forgiveness, sinners need to surrender their will to God, and to ask God to change their hearts with His Spirit so they won't sin anymore. This change of heart ALWAYS happens because of the conviction of the Holy Spirit living inside someone who is saved and born again.

So, if there is no desire in the sinner to repent and change, then that person is probably either ignoring the Holy Spirit's call to repent, or is not born again by the Spirit of God in the first place. This is because people who are truly born again are continually being convicted by God's Spirit to flee from sin! Although those who are saved have God's help fleeing from sin via the Holy Spirit dwelling within them, it is virtually impossible for unsaved sinners to keep the Ten Commandments and the other Moral Laws of God in Exodus, Leviticus and Deuteronomy (See text links to these Scriptures earlier in this article). But with the Holy Spirit, born again believers can and will repent and stop sinning. This is just as the Apostle John taught in the Epistle of 1 John:
~*~ 1 John 3:4-9 (NKJV) ~*~ “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
Let me repeat that last verse: “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” So if you are still sinning, and you're incapable of stopping, you're NOT born of God, which is to be born again with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We are born again after we repent of our sins, profess our belief in Christ, seek His redemption, seek water baptism, and ask God to baptize us with His Spirit. After this, we are given the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit to help us resist temptation, and keep God's Moral Law. As Yahshua and the Apostle Paul said:
~*~ John 3:5-8 (NKJV) ~*~ “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
~*~ John 14:15-21 (NKJV) ~*~  If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. 19 A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
~*~ 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 (NKJV) ~*~  “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
As Yahshua said in the Gospel of John, those who love Him keep His Commandments. Other Scriptures in the New Testament also teach us that, to show our love for God, we need to keep His Commandments, which is only referring to the Moral Law as laid forth in Exodus 20 and Leviticus 18 through 20 that Yahshua or Jesus spoke of that define how we should love God and our neighbor. These tell us not to cheat, lie, steal, or murder, and they warn us to flee sexual immorality. But they do not speak of the sacrificial and dietary laws, which were nailed to the Cross with Christ:
~*~ 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 (NKJV) ~*~ “Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; 2 for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; 6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. 7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. 8 Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.”
~*~ 1 John 5:1-5 (NKJV) ~*~ “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”
~*~ Revelation 22:14 (NKJV) ~*~  Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.”
So, as you can see, we are called to be born again so that we can become holy and keep God's Moral Law, and we are warned that those that do not keep His Commandments are not born again, and therefore are not truly saved, no matter what they may profess with their mouths. We are also told that only those who do God's Commandments as Christ taught them will have access to the Tree of Life in the New Jerusalem. In other words, if you say that you believe in Jesus or Yahshua but do not keep His commandments, and you do not repent when you break His Moral Law after being convicted of your sin by the Holy Spirit, you will not enter the New Jerusalem, which means you will not live with Christ in eternity, but will be cast into the outer darkness forever.

The Scriptures make it clear, over and over again, that we are called to keep God's Commandments regarding His Moral Law, and UNREPENTANT SIN IS NOT FORGIVEN! If you are sinning willfully - and you're NOT sorry about it, and don't want to change - how can you expect God to forgive you, and how can you claim that you are born again? As the Apostle John taught, those who are born again do not sin because the Holy Spirit convicts them not to! So, whenever we willfully sin and do not repent, it is as if we are slapping God in the face, and it is also a possible sign that we were never saved in the first place!

This is because only those who are truly saved receive the inner spiritual baptism of the Holy Spirit, and are born again - which means they hear from God in their hearts, and are directed on how to behave by God Himself through His Spirit living within them. This is the essence of how a saved person gradually becomes godly and reflects God's holiness in the process known as sanctification.  As a part of this sanctification process, sinners who repent and are forgiven by God through Yahshua are also called to forgive others when they repent and ask us for forgiveness, as it says in the following Scriptures:
~*~ Matthew 6:14-15 ~*~ “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
~*~ Matthew 18:21-22 ~*~ “Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”
So, to sum up what this Bible Study has shown, we are not saved by Grace or by belief in Christ alone. We are instead saved by the Grace of God that extends mercy to us in the Person and by the blood of Yahshua when we believe that He is our Messiah or Savior, and that only He can save us from sin, death, Hell and the Devil. In addition, Christ expects us to be baptized and filled with His Spirit so that we will gradually stop sinning, and will want to love and follow His Commandments because we love and believe in Him. Of course, none of us can do this without the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, which is the seal of our salvation, and our guarantee that we have inherited everlasting life through Christ (See 2 Corinthians 1:22-23, and Ephesians 1:13-14). We need the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit to guide us on how we should show God's love, mercy and forgiveness to others, and how we can sin less as time goes by until we are fully sanctified, and are incapable of sinning any more.

According to Yahshua, Who said that those who love Him will keep His Commandments, and the Apostle John, who said that this state of being unable to sin can be achieved by those who are born again, believers are called to keep Christ's Commandments, and to strive to stop sinning in every respect. So believers that are saved by faith in Yahshua, and who are born again, are extended God's Grace, which is His unmerited favor and forgiveness through Christ. This Grace fully covers all of their sins up to the point of conversion.

But when a believer slips up and sins after that time, God still fully expects believers to be convicted of any new infractions of His Law by His Spirit dwelling within them, to repent of these sins, and to listen to the Holy Spirit better in the future so they won't commit these same sins again. This process is known as sanctification, and it is a necessary preparatory step in our walk with God that helps us become fully ready to enter His Kingdom. This is why James the brother of Yahshua stressed that fact that faith in Christ without Spirit-led works is dead. It is because good works are necessary to define and show our faith in Christ to others.

I'm sorry if this teaching upsets some of you. I just wanted to give you all a clear answer as to why I teach what I do about how God forgives sin. As you can see in this article, what I teach is based fully on Scripture. Some of you seem to be ignoring the fact that repentance to God and mercy to others are the keys to being forgiven, and we all need to repent and show mercy because none of us is perfect, and we all still may slip a bit and sin sometimes in the little things (i.e. swearing, giving in to various lusts in our mind's eye, lying to others to avoid an unpleasant confrontation, etc.) even when we don't want to.

That's when we need to go to the Cross and ask Yahshua or Jesus to forgive us, to help us to resist future temptation, and also ask Him to help us to be merciful to others, just as He is to us. It's not a one time deal either. We need to keep doing this until we don't need to do it anymore. It's a life long process called sanctification.

WARNING! SINNERS THAT DO NOT REPENT WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN!

Contrary to popular belief, the title of this article is based on clear teachings that can be found in Scripture - and it's taught in the same New Testament epistles in the Bible that some think expunge believers from having to repent of their sins once they are believers in Yahshua or Jesus. Take the following example:

~*~ 1 Corinthians 6:8-11 (NKJV) ~*~
No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brethren! 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
I don't know about you, but it's pretty clear to me that this Scripture from the Apostle Paul's own mouth says that believers in Christ that are not willing to stop sinning - which means they are willfully sinning with full knowledge of the fact - are not forgiven, and UNREPENTANT SINNERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD, period! This means that there are no exceptions to the need for real repentance to occur before we can receive forgiveness from God for sins either willfully committed, or committed in ignorance - even after we are saved.

This process of acknowledging our sinfulness before God when we are made aware of it by the Holy Spirit or by fellow believers is called sanctification, and sanctification is the process we  must undergo to achieve holiness after we are saved by belief and faith. To be clear, scripture teaches that we are justified by our belief and faith in Christ, and we are sanctified by the process of confessing our sins to God, and then applying the Blood of Christ over ourselves in prayer and communion by partaking of the Lord's Supper to wipe out our sins, and to bless our lives with healing, joy and peace.

This is why being saved and being sanctified are NOT the same thing. Being saved means that one is only saved from the fires of Hell. Being sanctified means that one is being prepared for entrance into Yahshua's Kingdom. In short, sanctification - which leads to righteousness and holiness - is essential for entrance into the Kingdom of God. Without it, believers will be excluded from participating in Christ's Millennial Kingdom, and they will have to wait until the end of the 1000 years is over to be raised up or resurrected, and allowed to dwell with God in eternity.

In fact, the only ones that Paul indicates will be allowed to enter the Kingdom of God (or Heaven), which is a reference to Yahshua's Kingdom, are defined in verse 11 of 1 Corinthians 6, where it clearly says that these saved people are justified and sanctified by the Name or Character of Yahshua or Jesus, and also by the active guidance and perfect teachings of the Spirit of God within their hearts. If that is not clear enough, then the following Scripture from the Book of Hebrews should clear up any remaining ambiguity:
~*~ Hebrews 10:26-31 (NKJV) ~*~ WILLFUL, UNREPENTANT SINNERS TRAMPLE CHRIST UNDERFOOT! “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
To clarify these Scriptures, it's important to know that a secret sin or unknown sin is not something we can be condemned for, as Scripture makes it clear that Yahshua's blood covers us from these unknown infractions of the Law, just as the blood of the innocent lambs and bulls that were sacrificed to Yahweh temporarily did so before Yahshua came. But if we are willfully and knowingly sinning, and ignoring the clear teaching of Scripture to lead a holy and blameless life, we are NOT forgiven! WE NEED TO REPENT OR TURN AWAY FROM SIN BEFORE WE CAN BE FORGIVEN, and if we are sinning and refuse to repent, we are condemned by our own refusal to change!

Interestingly, the Old Testament sacrifices that were a dim reflection of Yahshua's sacrifice for us on the Cross were never meant to atone for willful sins that were not repented of or turned away from. Likewise, the willful sins of those who profess to be under the New Covenant of Grace - but will not repent and refuse to stop sinning - are not forgiven either. So I beseech all believers to stop taking a few passages out of context like the "Once Saved, Always Saved" crowd likes to do. Sadly, the erroneous idea of "Eternal Security" can become a license to sin among lukewarm believers, and this flippant disregard of our need to repent of all sin is constantly contradicted and proven wrong in Scripture, where we are told that only the righteous (as in fully repentant and forgiven) among those initially saved by faith in Christ will be allowed into the Kingdom of God.
