The Great Comet of 1680 and Great Meteor Procession of 1913: Their Current Prophetic Significance

100 years ago, on February 9th, 1913, a spectacular meteor shower that became known as the Great Meteor Procession of 1913 traveled from northern central Canada over the Northeastern USA and beyond while passing directly underneath the belts stars of Orion, the constellation that depicts Yahshua as a conquering King, Avenger of Blood, and Kinsmen Redeemer. The longest and most brilliant meteor shower ever recorded, it took place only 17 months before World War I broke out. This photographed, hand tinted halftone image recorded the meteors streaking toward Orion for posterity. I have added some helpful text to make the graphic more understandable:

In this article, we will look at the above celestial event and another past one that may be symbolically and prophetically tied to two upcoming celestial events. The first of the current events is the large Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) that erupted on February 9th, 2013, which marks the 100-year anniversary of the Great Meteor Procession of 1913. Though this CME is headed toward Earth, it’s not expected to cause much damage, though it may step up displays of the Aurora Borealis on Earth. But it could well be a sign that the 100-year anniversary of that 1913 event is highly significant in a prophetic sense.  

In that regard, it is interesting to note that the prophecies in the 150 chapters of the Bible’s Book of Psalms are directly connected to all 100 years of the 20th Century, and the first 50 years of the 21st Century. Prophetically, this is a period of three Great Jubilees, with the last one associated with the years 2001 through 2050. It is my firm belief that the last 50 Psalms mark the time leading up to the Great Tribulation, as well as the first 30 or so years of the Millennial Rule of Christ on Earth.

In studying the painting done of the Meteor Procession of 1913, I deduced that it targeted the messianic constellation of Orion. I have marked the painting with Orion’s location, along with two planets that were also visible at the time of the meteoric procession. Interestingly, Orion looks like a giant hour glass in the sky for an important reason. Orion’s shape suggests that it is a prophetic time marker in the heavens that points to the nearness of significant events on God’s prophetic time clock - events that may affect both the Jews and His Church. 

Adding steam to this hypothesis, the bottom of the Great Step inside the Grand Gallery in the Great Pyramid at Giza, which is an earthly representation of the star Al Nitak in Orion’s Belt, corresponds to the year 1913 also. In a POEM blog article that I wrote almost a year ago, I showed a detailed illustration of the Great Pyramid Antechamber. In this illustration, all of the significant prophetic dates hidden within it were clearly marked, including the dates indicated by the Great Step leading into the Antechamber. This Grand Step marks the period from 1913 through 2010 as the prelude tribulation years before the Great Tribulation, which is marked by the Antechamber of the Great Pyramid. Fascinatingly, in perfect harmony with the Blood Moon Signs in the Heavens (See my Tribulation Time Chart to see the Triple Blood Moons marking 2011 and 2018 by CLICKING HERE), the dates that I discovered in the Antechamber mark Nissan 1 of 2011 as the start of the first year of the Tribulation period, and 2016 as the last year. This suggests that Yahshua intends to shorten the seven years of the Tribulation to five years in order to save any remnants of righteous Gentiles and Jews on the Earth from total annihilation.

Since our Messiah Yahshua told us that there would be signs in the Sun, Moon, and stars that would foretell His Second Coming, could the near-miss Asteroid that will pass Earth on February 15th, 2013, Comet PanSTARRS (C/2011 L4) that will be visible in March 2013, and Comet ISON (C/2012 S1) that will be very bright and visible from November 2013 through January 2014 be associated with another, far more destructive meteor shower and world war known among most Prophecy Teachers as the Psalm 83 War, but which I associate with Psalm 108? In the war outlined in Psalm 108, the USA or Ephraim, and Israel or Judah will be attacked by outside enemies, will counterattack, and will win a decisive victory against their foes after suffering some possibly serious casualties.

In the early summer of 2011, Yahweh God showed me a great meteor shower accompanied by other celestial bombardments in a dream. These will cause massive destruction on the Earth after the Rapture. The first of the celestial objects I saw in that dream led to the cataclysmic Sixth Seal Judgment Pole Shift and Crustal Displacement. However, since the Earth’s Poles have already shifted with the earthquake disasters in Chile in 2010, and in Japan in 2011, I theorized that these events may be a partial fulfillment of the Sixth Seal Judgment Pole Shift. Fascinatingly, the Earth might pass through the possibly meteor-loaded tail of Comet ISON (C/2012 S1) in January of 2014, after it reaches Perihelion on November 28th, 2013, the first day of Chanukah. Then, not long after that, the first of the four Blood Moons occurring on Jewish Feasts in 2014 and 2015 will occur on the first night of Passover, on April 14th, 2014. The most exciting aspect of Comet ISON’s preliminary orbit is that it bears a striking resemblance to that of “the Great Comet of 1680”. That comet put on a dazzling show, and it could even be glimpsed in daylight. Later, as it moved away from the Sun, the Comet of 1680 threw off a brilliantly long tail, as seen in the painted facsimile of that event below:

The illustration above shows C1680/V1 or the Great Comet of 1680 - shortly after it reached perihelion on December 18th, 1680, which was just before Christmas. It was visible in the early hours of the morning, and remained bright for almost 3 weeks, including the twelve days of Christmas that were celebrated back then from December 24th, 1680 through Epiphany on January 6th, 1681.

The illustration below shows Comet ISON’s trajectory through our Solar System, with the Sun depicted in the center. When Comet ISON is nearest to the Sun after it reaches Perihelion, it is hypothesized that it will have the potential to look like the Great Comet of 1680 - but only if it does not disintegrate as it races past the Sun. Unfortunately, Sun-grazing comets like ISON sometimes are destroyed before or shortly after they reach Perihelion at their closest approach to the Sun, so Comet ISON’s potential to rival the Great Comet of 1680 is pure speculation at this point.

In regard to the prophetic significance of the Great Comet of 1680, it is interesting to note that many fledgling British, Spanish, and French colonies were being established in the Americas in the 1680’s. Armed conflicts were also arising between the Colonialists and the Native Americans, who were resistant to the Gospel of Christ, and to foreign encroachment on their native lands. 

Since it was best seen over Europe, the Great Comet of 1680 may have been heralding the rise of the United States as a refuge for the often impoverished political and religious refugees of central Europe and England, as well as a safe haven for the heavily persecuted European Jews. In the case of the 1913 Procession, it was likely heralding the foundation political and economic conflicts that would lead to World War I, and another major increase in Jewish persecution in Europe that grew to apocalyptic proportions during Adolph Hitler’s ill-fated regime that led to World War II.

If Comet ISON puts on a similar show to its sister Comet of 1680, it may become the most spectacular comet of the 21st Century thus far. Currently, that honor belongs to Comet McNaught, which became very bright and developed a spectacular tail for a short time in January of 2007. This is shown in the following photograph:

Now, regarding the upcoming Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014 and 2015 that falls on Jewish Feasts, Tetrads of this type are extremely rare, and only seven have occurred since the birth of Christ. Significantly, all seven are tied to major events in the history of the Jewish people, and the last two were directly connected to the rebirth of the tiny nation of Israel in 1948, and the Six Day War of 1967, in which the Israelis won back their control of Jerusalem. These Lunar Tetrads occurred on Passover and the Feast of Sukkot or Tabernacles in two consecutive years, just like the eighth Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014 and 2015. Even more importantly, both the sixth Tetrad of 1949 and 1950, and the seventh Tetrad of 1967 and 1968 occurred AFTER the significant Jewish historical event they can be associated with. This means that, if a major historical event is going to occur in Israel’s history soon, it will likely be completed before or shortly after Passover of 2014, with the Rapture possibly occurring sometime before or after that.

Of course, no one knows the day or hour that the Rapture will occur, or if Comet ISON will generate enough of tail, or if that tail will generate a meteor shower that might do some damage to the Earth. This is all speculation - although it is based on speculations that have arisen from the prophetic dream that I had last year of the last two Seal Judgments and first few Trumpet Judgments being tied to God’s Wrath.
