Matthew Chapter 24 is one of the most misinterpreted prophetic scriptures in all of the Bible. For one thing, Christ's audience here was not just Jews such as the Apostles, but Christ's many disciples, and among them were Gentile believers like Mark and Luke, who wrote the second and fourth Gospels. In fact, the word "disciples" appears in Matthew 24:1 and 24:3 as proof of this. Furthermore, there is every indication that Matthew Chapter 24 describes the times of tribulation and great tribulation that believers have suffered through every Church Age, especially in these last of the last days, when there is such awful hate and violence toward those who love and follow Christ.
This chapter tells us that, when this time of great tribulation is scheduled to end by God, Yahshua or Jesus is going to come to rescue His Bride from the four corners of the Earth in the Rapture. This is because the Rapture is meant to allow the Bride of Christ to escape the Wrath of God against all those who imprisoned, attacked, beat and killed them during the fierce times of persecution. This is the kind of tribulation that all faithful followers of Christ experience when they do His will, and preach the truth of the Gospel to the lost as an ACT OF LOVE.
In Matthew 24, Yahshua is not coming to wage war against the wicked as in Revelation Chapter 19, but as a loving Savior and Bridegroom sending His angels to gather those He loves, and that love Him. This will be at the sounding of a trumpet, which the Apostle Paul describes in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17:
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.”This is describing the same event that is described by Christ Himself in Matthew 24:31! There is not one mention in the entirety of Matthew 24 or in 1 Thessalonians 4 of Yahshua coming to destroy the wicked, but only to rescue His Saints. As it says in Matthew 24:31:
“And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”When read in conjunction with one another, it is clear that 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 and Matthew 24:31 are describing the SAME EXACT EVENT! The Rapture is not meant to save believers from tribulation, but from the Wrath of God that comes as retribution for the tribulation that His beloved Saints have suffered for His sake. Paul so eloquently expressed this in Romans 8:34-36:
“Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:
