HOW TO BE ASSURED THAT YOU HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE

Shabbat Shalom Everyone!

As the weekend begins, I wanted to encourage you all with a very heartwarming Scripture and message of re-assurance from Yahshua. Let’s begin by focusing on a special message given by Yahshua to His followers:

Yahshua said: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My Word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life” - (John 5:24).

This means that, if you hear (i.e. understand and follow) Yahshua's Word in the New Testament, understand it via the Holy Spirit, and believe in Yahweh Elohim, Yahshua’s Father and ours, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE AFRAID!

Do you love Yahshua and do your best to follow Him with the promptings of the Holy Spirit? Do you love Yahweh God with your whole heart (which means that you flee from sin and do your best to please God), and love your neighbor as yourself? Do you forgive everyone and let God do the judging unless you are called to judge? Then YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE AFRAID!

If you love God and flee from sin, you will think about God often. If you love your neighbor, you will think about how to pray for and help them often as well, and if you do these things often, YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE AFRAID!

You have been given repeated assurances in God’s Word that you do not have to be thinking about God every waking moment to be assured salvation and everlasting life. Sometimes we need to think about caring for our own and our family's needs such as cooking, cleaning and doing laundry, working at jobs to provide for our families, having some relaxation time, and caring for our gardens or home improvement needs that don’t always make it easy to focus on God.

In fact, focusing on something or someone while driving a cab or guiding a commercial plane, for example, can have dire consequences. Sometimes we need to concentrate on what we are doing, or potentially end up dead! We also need to find time to rest, and to share moments of intimacy with those we love. So, if God always had our undivided attention, we would never be able to get anything done, and He knows that. Therefore...

DON’T WORRY AND DON’T BE AFRAID! Trust our Father God to honor the promises that Yahshua gave to us like the one found in John 5:24, and keep your eyes on Yahshua and do your best to give Him your undivided attention whenever you can find the time to do so.

Just remember that it’s okay to enjoy a day at the zoo, or the beach, or a walk in the woods, or a picnic, or a barbecue with your loved ones too. It’s not a sin to enjoy life. IT’S ONLY A SIN IF YOU LOVE THE SINFUL PLEASURES THAT THE WORLD OFFERS, and pursue them instead of God!!!

As it says in Scripture: “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15).

So don’t love the world! Love Yahweh God and your neighbor instead.
